WHAT IS CROSSFIT?

It’s a universally scalable, high intensity, fitness programme combining body weight and gymnastics movements with weightlifting and cardio. By working these disciplines together in high intensity workouts with constantly varied combinations, your body never knows what’s coming. The result is a hormonal response which leads to physiological changes.

FAQs

What should i expect?

CrossFit is different to other exercise regimes. You can expect to be challenged. You may do movements you've never heard of. You'll exert more energy than you're used to and you might feel a bit lost. That's OK: don't fear starting at the beginning. Learn the mechanics and try new things. You'll improve quicker than you think.

DO I NEED TO BE FIT BEFORE starting?

No. Absolutely not. CrossFit is infinitely scalable. If there is something you cannot do, it will be scaled so you can.

WHAT DOES A NORMAL CROSSFIT SESSION LOOK LIKE?

We ask you to come in 10 minutes before the start of the session to perform some individual mobility. You’ll then take part in a group warm up. There is then a ‘Strength and Skill’ element. This will involve strength training, gymnastic skill work or mobility movements to improve your biomechanics and posture. You’ll then complete a timed, conditioning workout. They are usually short but intense. The session is finished with Core/Stabilising work.

CrossFit is for ANYONE regardless of experience, age or fitness. ”The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind” - CrossFit Journal. If there is a movement you can’t do, we will scale it or modify it accordingly.
